My Post-Pregnancy Fitness Journey
Hi there! My name is Audra and I have spent 10 years in the fitness industry teaching various classes and managing boutique fitness studios. Working out has always been a big part of my life, and prior to becoming a qualified personal trainer I spent 5 years as a professional volleyball player competing for clubs in Europe and Asia. It wasn’t until I had my first baby that I saw my workout routine really challenged and that I was finding it hard to get back into shape.
I was desperate to lose the baby weight, but like any new mama I was struggling to find the time to exercise and a fitness option that I could balance with the new responsibilities of motherhood. I tried everything from working out at nap time, to rushing off to the gym for a quick workout once my husband got home from work, to attending fitness centers with daycare options, to taking my daughter along to mama and baby workouts. Despite my attempts to get fit, I failed to achieve the results I desperately wanted because my daughter’s schedule never seemed to line up with the class times, or I felt too guilty about taking time for myself, or leaving my daughter in someone else’s care.
